Dr. Sarah Razaq is Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Hospital, Kamra, Pakistan. She has clinical expertise in Electrodiagnostics and Neurological Rehabilitation. Dr. Sarah is working to establish comprehensive rehabilitation departments in three different cities of Pakistan. Presently, she is the only Physiatrist in Pakistan Air force.
She received her medical degree from Nishtar Medical College, Bahauddin Zakariya University in 2003 and completed residency in Physical medicine and Rehabilitation at Armed Forces Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFIRM), Rawalpindi. In 2011, she passed her exit exam to become a Fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (FCPS). Over a period of ten years, she was the second fellow to be awarded a gold medal in FCPS in the specialty of PMR. Later, she was selected on merit scholarship for Advanced training in Neuro-rehabilitation at Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia under the mentorship of Dr. Fary Khan. Subsequently, she passed her Masters degree in Pain Medicine in 2013. She served in area of need for two years prior to her posting at PAC hospital, Kamra.
Dr. Sarah’s research is focused on the nature of nerve injuries in combat related trauma and the use of Platelet Rich Plasma injections in internal knee derangements.
