Dr. Syed Imran Ahmed
MBBS, FCPS
Dr. Syed Imran Ahmed received his medical degree in 1996 from Sindh Medical College Karachi and is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine and Attending Physiatrist in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (IPMR) and Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS). He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Karachi and passed his exit exam in 2007 to become the Fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (FCPS).
Dr. Imran has been proactive in promoting PMR regionally through the platform of Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has participated in various regional conferences and events on disability care and has advocated rehabilitation medicine through electronic and paper media. He coordinated the World Health Organization (WHO) project of provision of orthotics for Progressive Pseudo Rheumatoid Dysplasia. He has also steered various community projects in Sindh province and worked with a non-profit organization “Pakistan Voluntary Health and Nutrition Association” for six years.
Dr. Imran enjoys teaching and has substantial contribution in curriculum design and development of undergraduate and postgraduate programs at IPMR. He has taught allied health sciences at Bachelors and Masters Level and has been the research supervisor for these courses as well.
