I can relate to challenges involved with a disability as I have poliomyelitis. Dr. Khalid Jamil Akhtar, my
mentor, inspired me to choose this specialty as a career. Due to the increasing burden of disability, persons
with activity limitations require proper rehabilitation to improve their quality of life. Hence, there is a dire
need of well trained physiatrists in our country. I am sure Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is the right
track to achieve my career goals and facilitate individuals with disabilities.
Activities in PMR:I have been interviewed on various television programs to increase awareness about
rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. During my residency training, I have presented posters in
conferences on medical education, neurology and rehabilitation.
Professional Interests:Interventional pain management, pediatric rehabilitation and general
rehabilitation.
Hobbies: Reaing Travelling, spending time with family.
