Dr. Abdul Ghaffar

Dr Abdul Ghaffar is working as consultant rehabilitation physician in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Mayo Hospital Lahore affiliated with King Edward Medical University. He went to medical school at Allama Iqbal Medical College and did his Internship at Lahore General Hospital. Later, he completed his Residency in PMR at Mayo Hospital Lahore and passed his exit exam in 2007 to become a Fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (FCPS). He is the first fellow in PMR who graduated from Mayo Hospital and later joined the same department as a consultant. He took substantial measures to promote the specialty of PMR regionally. He was one of the main organizers of the first National Conference of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation which laid the foundation of Pakistan Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has presented at various platforms to increase the awareness of disability care among clinicians and general public. He has been an invited guest on many television shows and is actively involved in disability related events locally. He also works with pace2life which is a non-profit organization. Dr. Abdul Ghaffar serves as an advisor in Public Service Commission and is the publication secretary of Pakistan Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PSPMR). He has mentored residents, medical students and therapists at institutional level, and is a potential examiner and supervisor for FCPS.

Dr. Abdul Ghaffar likes travelling, hiking and tracking and enjoys his trips to Mecca.
