Dr. Waseem Iqbal

Currently, Dr. Waseem Iqbal is working as Consultant Rehabilitation Medicine at Armed Forces Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFIRM) Rawalpindi, Pakistan where he is responsible for the medical rehabilitation in both indoor and outdoor settings. Dr. Waseem Iqbal did his Fellowship in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2010 from College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) after completing his residency training at AFIRM. He has also done his Masters in Pain Medicine in 2012 and completed his on job training (OJT) in Clinical Neurophysiology from Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2013. He had been actively involved in rehabilitation of victims of 2005 Northern Pakistan earthquake and managed hundreds of Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI) and patients with amputations. He had also been actively involved in development of Orthotic and Prosthetic Department at AFIRM. He remained the Head of Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Lahore and CMH Quetta from 2009-2012 and 2014- 2015 respectively. He also mentored residents, trainees and medical students during his above mentioned appointments. Dr. Waseem had been actively involved in various departmental committees during his medical career. He was also a member of medical committee at University of Health Sciences (UHS) for admission of students against reserved seats in Medical Colleges of Punjab. He is a member of American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Waseem likes to play cricket and enjoys reading history and autobiographies.
