Giving the keynote address on ‘Disaster rehabilitation and its need in developing countries’ at Pakistan’s first international rehabilitation conference, RehabCon 2014, is one of the highlights of my affiliation with the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM). The conference program was well designed and superbly executed, reflecting the organizing committees’ vision for this venue of international exchange. I understand that collaborations developed with foreign rehabilitation medicine attendees at RehabCon 2014 have since increased the scientific capital of rehabilitation sciences in Pakistan and will undoubtedly continue to do so over time.
The foreign delegation felt privileged to be a part of this historic occasion and besides the robust professional offerings thoroughly enjoyed the world-famous Pakistani hospitality. The rich social atmosphere contributed to a special group camaraderie. Friendships were made and we kept in touch for some time by email.
Once again I would like to sincerely thank our RehabCon 2014 hosts and wish Pakistan significant and rapid success in developing its rehabilitation sciences and services.

Kind regards,
