Dr. Arshia Ahmad,

It is a great honor for me to write these few words about Rehabcon 2014 where I was invited to deliver a talk on Stroke Management. Having worked in UK, America and Far East Asia, it was a pleasure to see that Rehabilitation as a specialty is a fast growing and an up and coming field. The physicians, therapists and students that I met then, and all those who have contacted me since, have all been driven, dedicated and keen to learn and improve their knowledge and skills.

Having eager learning minds, and a commitment to improvement, are the only important pre-requisites for any effort to be fruitful. Methods change, theories change, knowledge base and standards change. But if the minds are willing to learn, unlearn and re-learn then it is a win-win situation.

Considering that the tree of rehab medicine is still young in Pakistan, and the infrastructure and resources are limited, it is even more heartening to see the path finders of this field lead the newer crop of rehab personnel with such vigor and vitality.
